We want to thank everyone who attended the various events & helped to make our Festival weekend another very successful & enjoyable weekend in the village.
We have put together a nice video with photos & clips from the weekend. Some lovely shots & great memories made.
We were very grateful to have the festival opened by Micheal O’Connor, who recently brought Ras Mumhan to the village through his prominent role with Dornan Group. TR Dallas then gave us a very entertaining Friday night, which was enjoyed by all.
Saturday saw the walk on the Shannon Way, followed by the Community night in the Community Centre, which saw a special commemoration to mark 40 years of the GAA club. There was a lovely photo display also, with great work done by Tom Kennedy on this.
Past & present officers & players spoke on the night, followed by a presentation to the 1986 Murphy Cup-winning team. A special 40th anniversary video to mark the occasion was then shown on the projector. Martin Behan then played us into the night with his dj set. The Family Day was another thoroughly enjoyable day, as we got blessed with the weather. The marrieds vs singles, fun games & races all went down a treat. The Rambling House was once again a great night in a full Community Centre, with super entertainment given by the many performers.
The Festival was brought to a close in Jesse James’s, which showcased the photo exhibition over the weekend. There were hundreds of great photos on show. A big thank you to everyone who has allowed us to put their photos on display for the weekend. And especially to David Horgan for allowing us to use Jesse’s for the weekend, it means a lot to many people.
In no particular order, a special thank you to Marie & Jack J’s for the license, Tom Kennedy for his work on the photos over the weekend, Gemma Collins, Maura Doran & Millie Byrne for doing the bar, Margaret Hayes for keeping the toilets clean, Anna Petrova, Paul Jackson & the CE Scheme preparing the community centre, and to the many volunteers for giving up their time to help & support in the build-up or over the weekend.
Nothing can be done without buy-in from the community, so we really do appreciate it. The village was looking fantastic & it was a credit to you all for the hard work.
