Christmas Preparation

The Community Development has been busy preparing the village for Christmas the past few weeks, with the Christmas lights on the poles and Christmas Tree in place at the church.

However, this weekend we also made a few more noticeable improvements to the village, with the Grotto given a timely makeover, the overhanging trees at the bridge cut away, and the heating in the Community Centre has been upgraded for the short term.

The work should help make the approach to the village and the village itself more attractive this Christmas and the year ahead. Things are really taking shape for the Christmas lighting ceremony this Friday at 7 pm.

We would like to thank everyone for their help, but particular mention to Tom O’Sullivan for the use of his teleporter, Fergie O’Connor for operating the teleporter, Donie O’Keeffe, Martin Stack for his excellent work with the chainsaw, and John & Eoin Kennedy & Dave Griffin for putting up the lights in the village.

We have attached before and after photos of the grotto, the trees at the bridge, and a look at the heaters in action before Scor in the Community Centre this evening.
