This trip down Memory Lane is from June 2001. Asdee National School won their first County title, beating Tousist 7-8 to 2-5. Tom Gorman is on commentary duty, with Tom Kennedy as cameraman & co-commentator.
Highlights of the game can be watched below, but more interesting to many might be the interviews at half time & after the game. We also see the homecoming, with the players stopping off to meet Tommy Walsh with the cup & on to the village to meet Kathleen Kennedy at the Grove Inn.
This clip shows the interviews before the game, at half time & the reaction from the players & management after the game (the players were a lot quieter then than now, but management was never stuck for a word!).
The next clip shows the homecoming to a bonfire at Jack Walsh Park, meeting Tommy Walsh with the trophy, and into the village to meet Kathleen Kennedy at the Grove Inn.
The next clip is the first half of the game, with the score being 3-3 to 0-4 by half time. Fans of off the ball tactics will enjoy around 3.26 in the clip.
The second half saw Asdee kick up an extra gear, playing some great football & ending up winning on a score of 7-8 to 2-5.
