We want to say a massive thanks to everyone who gave up their weekend to carry out the work on the Asdee section of the Shannon Way Trail.
It was a huge community effort, with people volunteering their time and some of the machinery to ensure the path was upgraded in such a short space of time.
Plenty more people have since offered to help out with any upcoming projects and we hope to get as much of the community involved as possible going forward.
We aim to have the finishing touches in place on the trail in the near future, and plan to organise a community walk to mark the work being completed.
A special thanks to Kerry County Council for covering the cost of the stone and to North Kerry Walks and Pobal’s Community Trail Management Grant for helping to cover the costs of the machine hire.
We have a few photos and a video of the work carried out below.
