An overdue post, but in the last month, many of the younger members of our area have had great sporting success. They’re doing themselves & their community proud, long may it continue.
On the inter county stage, Oisin Healy has put in starring performances for Kerry u17 soccer, Kerry u16 hurling & most recently at centre forward for the u16 Kerry football development squad, putting in a fantastic display against Meath lately.
Róisín Fogarty played a key role in winning Munster runners-up medals with the Kerry u15 & u16 girls soccer, giving an outstanding display in the u16 final at right back. She also won a North Kerry schools basketball medal with St. Joseph’s, while herself, Niamh Daly & Maggie Mulvihill helped win a County camogie school’s tournament.
Brian Dineen has been producing excellent performances in goals with the Kerry u15 soccer team, recently winning the Barcelona Cup. He is now also playing with the Kerry football development squad.
Congratulations to all the girls on the Beale u12s & u14s, who both won their County League groups, a great achievement. And to the u15 girls who only missed out on qualifying from their féile group on points difference.
A number of the girls have also had a great season with LB Rovers girls teams, while the boys have also given great entertainment in both football & soccer.
A number of the National School students have won athletics & gymnastics medals in various competitions. We hope we didn’t leave anyone out.
It’s great to see the amount of children active & doing well in so many sports. A special mention to their parents & coaches for the time they put in. Keep up the good work.
